Bird Commission

I just finished this commission to do a painting of birds.  I found this picture on Pinterest done with lots of little canvases.  It had lots of bright colors and a bird on each canvas.  I liked the idea, but wanted to simplify it a little.  I did mine on three canvases, toned down the color a little, and added leaves to the branches.

Here are some other pictures that I hope to paint sometime.

I am hoping to do some paintings of children.  It's something that consumes my days, so why not paint it.  I had seven children five and under at my house this morning.  There is no lack of inspiration.  This picture of Olivia is the first one I did.

I'd call it a sketch.  I did it on a small 4x4 inch canvas in about 30 minutes...mainly just to practice finding lights and darks.
